Jonny James' new single "Smoke" is available everywhere music is sold!
Jonny James is an American country music singer/songwriter and Nashville recording artist from Northwest Indiana. His musical influences span all genres and include acts such as Eric Church, Johnny Cash, Brantley Gilbert, Dallas Green (City&Colour), and Nirvana just to name a few. At a young age James knew he loved music and wanted to write his own. With his storytelling and relatable lyrics fans feel how genuine he is not only on stage but off stage as well.
Picking up his first guitar at the age of fifteen James knew he was meant to be a musician. Jonny played in a few rock bands through high school but soon realized where his heart really was, in country music. The soulful sound, the real instruments, and the stories of the blue collar life he was accustomed to. Jonny is a millwright at a steel mill in Indiana full time Monday through Thursday but when Friday comes along James is where he belongs, on a stage singing to his endearing fans.
He has been featured on Indiana 105.5 as an “up-and-coming artist to watch out for.” Jonny James has played on numerous stages in Indiana, Illinois, Virginia, Florida, and others since releasing his breakout EP “Why We Fight.”
Recorded and produced by Jonathan JP Parker (The Fray, Wilco, Andrew Bird, David Thornberry & Heath McNease) at 7 Spin Music Studios near Chicago, "Why We Fight" has received both local and national acclaim. The title track has garnered great reviews both locally and nationally. “Why We Fight” is getting airplay in numerous markets in the US and abroad.
With the new single "Smoke" Jonny made a big leap to Music City and recorded with Brian Bonds (Florida Georgia Line). The two were made for each other with their rock backgrounds and country roots. Smoke is like no other song on the radio in the past decade.
Jonny is a rare breed of talent, commitment, and dedication to his music and his family. In an age of overnight sensations and one-hit wonders, Jonny is a breath of fresh air to all who are lucky enough to catch one of his high-energy, live performances. It’s just a matter of time until he becomes a household name.
