Jonny James was born & raised in a small town in northwest, Indiana and grew up listening to every genre of music. Falling in love with the idea that a true story could be told in the form of a relatable song.

Some of his biggest influences are Eric Church, Brantley Gilbert, Dallas Green, Bruce Springsteen & Kurt Cobain.

Picking up his first guitar from a pawn shop at the age of 15 he decided writing songs was not only therapeutic to himself but also listeners who can relate to the content he's created.

Shortly after James graduated from the University of North Alabama where he attended on a football scholarship he returned back home to Chesterton, Indiana to work in the family trade, a steel mill. After his father-in-law passed away in 2017 he decided to rekindle the fire he once had to pursue music as a full time career.

In 2018 after being introduced by a mutual friend to Brian Bonds (Florida Georgia Line) James released his first Nashville single "Smoke" in 2019 which jumped to over 200,000 streams seemingly overnight with only grass roots, word of mouth. The success of the single led James to be an opening act for the likes of Joe Diffie, Jason Michael Carroll, and Uncle Kracker in 2019 and 2020. Jonny will also take the stage with Lee Brice, Julia Cole, Dylan Schneider, and Lewis Brice in 2021.

James is now busy in the studio getting ready to release his Nashville debut EP "Heart Beats to the Radio" a 7 song life story that is relatable to all ages and genres of music. The new EP has released 3 singles, "Smoke", "Steel Town", and "83". The crowds and demand for James have only grown since his leap into the Nashville scene. It's only a matter of time before Jonny James becomes a household name!
